fly the friendly skies

I flew LHR-JFK just after the Christmas day bomb attempt.  Paranoia and security lines. I was reminded of how bad things were just after 9/11 and wrote an anecdotal piece for The Guardian.

I also travel frequently

I also travel frequently between the countries through flight and I had faced the toughest security ever in U.S.A but I think this is really important for our security and we should cooperate with them. regards:

Profiling and peace of mind?

I travel to Israel/Palestine frequently, and as a young man travelling alone I'm always singled out for special treatment at check-in. If you've encountered the security staff on flights to Israel, you'll know how aggressive and intimidating they can be. But while I always find the process deeply irritating at the time, once aboard the plane I normally feel reassured by its stringency.

What you experienced though, if your suspicions are correct, is indefensible. Moreover it doesn't make sense: if the airline staff thought you posed a risk, whatever their reasons, why simply move you to a less comfortable seat?
